The Backoffice Transmission & IPRAN Specialist is responsible for the monitoring, configuration, troubleshooting, Transmission & IPRAN databases management and optimization of the transport networks, including microwave, fiber optics/DWDM, IPRAN , VSAT and IP/MPLS transport systems. This role ensures high availability and performance of the transmission infrastructure, supporting both operational and strategic network goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Network Monitoring & Support:
• Monitor transmission network performance using NMS tools.
• Provide Level 2/3 support to NOC and Access Field Maintenance teams for transmission/IP-related incidents and escalations.
• SPoC of transmission & Datacom /IP GTAC and R&D
• Link degradations and remedial plan
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Transport systems health checks
• Daily, weekly and monthly reports
• Configuration & Maintenance:
• Configure and maintain transmission equipment (SDH, DWDM, microwave, VSAT, fiber and IP/IPMPLS).
• Manage provisioning and de-provisioning of transport& IP links
• Maintain accurate documentation of network topology and configurations.
• Periodical configuration backups
• Transport Systems inventory
• Transport systems road map and life management (EOM, EOS and EOL)
• Correct understanding of link budgets and line of sights
• Coordinate VSAT links implementation and integrations
• Support VSAT links peak & peak with teleport and satellite providers
• Optimization & Planning:
• Analyze network performance data to identify areas for improvement.
• RSL, XPIC, EbNo,  EsNo, link margin deviations improvement with field maintenance
• Collaborate with planning teams to support network expansion and upgrades.
• Participate in capacity planning and link budget analysis.
• Regular network topologies update (every 6 months)
• Participate into Iub drops and packet loss investigations and correction
• Project Implementation:
• Support rollout of new transmission projects and upgrades.
• Coordinate with field teams and vendors for implementation and testing.
• Ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
• Tools & Systems:
• Utilize network management systems (NCE, Zenic1, netnumen, Ceramonitor, NetAct, Ciena OneControlm etc).
• Work with ticketing systems for incident and change management (e.g., Remedy, ServiceNow).

Qualifications:

• Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• Experience:
• 3+ years of experience in transmission & IP /Backoffice engineering roles.
• Hands-on experience with SDH, DWDM, microwave, Satellite and IP/MPLS technologies.
• Technical Skills:
• Strong knowledge of transmission & IP protocols and technologies.
• Proficiency in using NMS tools and troubleshooting methodologies.
• Familiarity with fiber optic and microwave link design and analysis.
• Soft Skills:
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

Working Conditions:

• May require occasional travel to field sites.
• On-call support during off-hours and weekends as needed.
