Job Summary:
Vodacom DRC is seeking an experienced, proactive, and strategic Specialist Business Partner - Commercial - to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be the primary expert responsible for supporting our commercial operations by providing in-depth financial analysis, hands-on strategic advice, and robust operational support. This role is crucial for enabling data-driven decisions across various commercial departments. This position requires a highly analytical, detail-oriented individual with a proven ability to independently influence decisions and drive tangible business performance improvements across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
As the Specialist, you will be the day-to-day expert driving financial oversight and insight:
- Financial Analysis & Insight: Conduct deep-dive financial analysis to proactively identify key trends, variances, opportunities, and risks. Provide actionable insights to senior management to improve profitability and cost management.
- Budgeting & Forecasting Ownership: Take ownership of the development, management, and meticulous monitoring of annual budgets and detailed forecasts for key commercial departments, collaborating closely with the Mpesa commercial team and Finance teams.
- Strategic Partnership: Act as the dedicated Finance Business Partner for assigned functional areas, building and maintaining strong working relationships with departmental managers and their teams to provide continuous financial expertise and support.
- Performance Reporting: Prepare and present comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual financial performance reports and executive summaries for senior management and non-financial stakeholders.
- Variance & KPI Analysis: Independently identify, analyze, and report variances between budgeted and actual expenditures, recommending corrective actions. Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to rigorously assess business performance.
- Process Improvement & Compliance: Identify and implement enhancements to financial reporting and analysis processes to drive efficiency and accuracy. Ensure strict adherence to Vodacom's financial policies, procedures, and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Audit & Ad-Hoc Support: Provide hands-on support for internal and external audits by compiling necessary documentation and addressing queries accurately and promptly. Support the development and implementation of cost-saving and process efficiency initiatives.
Profil recherché
Qualifications and Experience:
· Education: A bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field is required. A Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, CPA) is highly desirable.
· Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in a financial analysis, business partnering, or similar specialist role, preferably within the telecommunications or technology sector.
· Core Skills: Strong, proven background in advanced financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting is essential.
· Stakeholder Engagement: Demonstrated experience working effectively as a partner with senior managers and cross-functional teams, particularly non-financial stakeholders.
· Expertise: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and diagnostic skills.
· Communication: Strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly translate complex financial data into understandable business narratives and recommendations.
· Work Ethic: Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple complex priorities, and consistently deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
· Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in financial software and tools (e.g., SAP, HFM, advanced Excel modeling) is required.
